two more new facilities
at their factory in
Mappedu in Tamil Nadu.
At a glittering function
got up on 23rd May 2010
Sri J. Chandrasekaran,
CGM State Bank of India,
Madras Circle inaugurated
the Molecular Biology
R & D Centre and
an Enzyme Blending section
respectively.
The R & D centre
in addition to a Quality
Control Centre wherein
the research will focus
primarily on enzyme
engineering and development
while using the modern
tools of Biotechnology
and will cover the study
of biologically important
macromolecules such
as DNS, RNA and Protein.
The State of art R &
D Centre and Enzyme
Blending Section set
up at a cost of Rs.
1.6 crore and 60 lakhs
respectively will play
an important role for
developing technologies
for newer enzymes and
modifying the existing
products as per customer
demand.
This will include development
of enzymes that are
Thermo-Tolerant, active
even in adverse pH conditions
or able to act on specific
multiple substrates.
With the addition of
these new facilities
Tex Biosciences will
be able to manufacture
highly efficacy enzymes
and enter the Pharma
Enzymes market. The
Company has embarked
on a massive expansion
program. They have added
additional Fermentors
and downstream equipments
to increase the capacity
of the Enzyme production.

in his welcome address
traced the genesis of
the steady growth of
his company over the
past three decades and
said "In the present
scenario, development
of indigenous technology
is very vital. This
R & D is aimed at
harnessing the potential
of Bio-Technology towards
a greener chemistry".
In his inaugural address,
Sri J. Chandrasekaran
- CGM, SBI spoke about
the long standing relationship
between the State Bank
of India and Tex Biosciences
(P) Ltd.
Sri K.T. Ravindran,
DGM-SBI in his address
highlighted the various
schemes and facilities
offered by SBI to entrepreneurs.
He appreciated the growth
of Tex Biosciences over
the years.
The function was attended
by the Company's distributors,
customers and scientists
who came from various
parts of the country.
The function came to
an end with thanks giving
address by Sri K.Aravindha
Prakash, Director -
Tex Biosciences (P)
Ltd., which was followed
